Former Georgia standout wide receiver A.J. Green has had a phenomenal start to his NFL career, making a name for himself as one of the most consistent pass-catchers in the game.
The former #4 overall draft pick was recently voted to play in his sixth-straight NFL Pro Bowl, despite missing some time this season due to a hamstring injury he sustained in week 11 against the Buffalo Bills. Green’s most recent Pro Bowl invitation means he has now made the Pro Bowl in each of his first six seasons in the NFL.
Before injuring himself in week 11, Green was on pace to have his best season in terms of receiving yards. Even after missing the past 5 games, Green still has 964 yards on the season. The Summerville (SC) native is expected to play in Cincinnati’s final two games of the season.
In addition to making the all-star game in each of his first six seasons in the league, AJ Green needs only 36 yards to reach 1,000 yards receiving on the season. If he does indeed gain those 36 yards needed, he would join future Hall of Famer Randy Moss as the only players in NFL history to reach 1,000 yards in each of their first 6 seasons.
