UNCP’s explosive offense has led the Braves to a hot start

UNC Pembroke baseball (7–1) is off to a tremendous start to their season and is currently riding a six-game winning streak after a ruthless 22–0 victory over Saint Rose earlier today.

UNCP’s offensive success today was due in part to every Braves starter recording at least one hit today. They weren’t being fooled by anything as they advanced freely to first base 10 times with eight walks and two hit batters.

Seth Hartings led the way offensively today for the Braves going 4-for-4 at the plate today with one home run, two doubles, five RBIs and a walk.

On the defensive side of things, Anthony Burke pitched lights out — allowing only two hits while striking out 10 batters. Overall, this was Burke’s best performance of the season thus far, setting season-bests in hits allowed, earned runs and strikeouts.

Burke is now a team-best 3–0 with a 2.00 ERA for the year.

The Braves will be back in action at tomorrow at 11 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. as they finish off their series with Saint Rose.
